VIU offers Medical and Prescription Drug coverage through Anthem that can help you stay well - through preventive care benefits, such as annual physicals - and get treatment when you're ill or injured.  Our medical plans allow you to select a plan and a network that best meets your needs and the needs of your family.



Our Dental plan through Guardian offers coverage for preventive dental care as well as major dental work with one of the largest networks in the area.





For those individuals who benefits from Vision coverage, VIU helps you keep costs down for eye exams and prescription eyewear with two vision coverage plans: one that is automatically provided at no additional costs through the medical plan and another plan through Guardian that can be chosen as an alternative or additional vision plan.




VIU provides Disability benefits to all full-time employees.  Short-Term Disabiilty is provided at no cost and Long-Term Disability is available for purchase for those individuals interested in the extra coverage.  For those employees welcoming new life into the world, VIU provides ten days of paid maternity/paternity leave as well.




VIU also provides Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance to all full-time employees.  Employees also have the option to purchase additional Voluntary Life Insurance for themselves and their dependents.





VIU has put together a retirement program that can help ensure your future and the future security of your family.  All eligible employees have the opportunity to make pre-tax contributions ranging from 1% to 100% of their gross earnings, not to exceed the annual maximum into a 401(k).  Employee contributions are matched up to 4% (100% match up to 4% and 50% match up to 5%). 


 Paid Time Off

Our generous leave program is designed to provide you with the flexibility needed to balance your professional life and personal responsibliities.  Time off for various reasons (vacation and occasional sick time) is combined into one flexible program to allow you more control over when and why you take time off from work.  The amount of time available is dependent upon length of service.  

In addition to PTO, employees receive paid time off for bereavement, jury duty, maternity/paternity leave, their birthday, and twelve holidays each year.
